An immediate resounding success, the cars assembled from a cast aluminum chassis and plastic wheels paved the way for a new run of future nostalgia and americana. A mere 9 years later, five Canadian quadriplegics would invent a sport also involving aluminum chassis'; Murderball. Athletes in chairs equipped with bumpers, wings and spoke protectors would rip up and down courts scoring goal after goal.
